Only on the Beach: Release of Rehabilitated Seabirds

The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary takes in injured birds and then rehabs them until they can be released back into the wild.

It does not happen every day but when it does, the folks at the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary say that it “never gets old.” What they are talking about is the release of rehabbed, healthy birds.

After weeks or months of healing and rehabilitation, the birds are evaluated. If they are unable to be released, the birds have a forever-home at the sanctuary.

On the other hand, a slew of healthy birds do get released a few times a year; and it is all thanks to the hard work of the folks at the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary.
