Only on the Beach: The Shell Key Shuttle

It isn’t just for tourists and the opportunities vary. From dog friendly sunset cruises to private charters, the Shell Key Shuttle caters to its customers on a daily basis. There are four different types of cruises to choose from: Shell Key Shuttle, Sunset Cruise, Private Charter or a Dog Friendly Cruise.

  Here’s the 411 on each getaway:
  
  Shell Key Shuttle- Departures to Shell Key go out at three different times (10 am, Noon and 2 pm). Island lovers can enjoy the use (free of charge) of masks, snorkels, beach umbrellas and shell bags. Feel free to bring your own coolers and beach chairs. When you return to land is up to you (12:15 pm, 2:15 pm or 4:15 pm). Cost for the Shell Key Shuttle is $25 for adults and $12.50 for children 12 and under (plus tax).
  
  Sunset Cruise- Don’t forget the adult beverages for this one. Coolers containing beer and wine are permitted aboard the sunset cruise. Snacks or dinner are also welcomed aboard. The relaxing ride takes you through five residential islands and a few unspoiled barrier islands. Dolphin sightings are a regular happening and the tour guide can answer any questions about the area and its history. The cost is $25 for adults and $12.50 for children 12 and under (plus tax).
  
  Private Charters- This option is a great idea for a business outing or even a mini-private-party at sunset with your closest friends. The boat can hold 24-49 passengers. A 60-90 minute ride can be expected for private parties. Charters can be scheduled in 90 minute blocks during the day or any time after 4:30 pm. The cost is $25 per passenger (plus tax) and a fully refundable 50% deposit is required to reserved your charter.
  
  Dog Friendly- The “Howl at the Moon” cruise welcomes pets and their owners aboard for a sunset cruise with other furry friends. Dogs are free (1 per adult) and adults are $25 a piece. Kids, 12 and under are $12.50 (plus tax). Dog friendly cruises don’t happen every day, so call for dates (727-360-1348) and don’t forget that reservations are required.
