Sheriff's Run & Ride With Stars Set For Saturday At Fort DeSoto

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL -- The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will host its 25th Annual Ride & Run With The Stars Saturday, Dec. 1, to support families in need over the holidays.

The event was initiated and coordinated by members of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and its community partnerships. Proceeds will benefit the Sheriff's Christmas Sharing Project, providing food, clothing and toys to families who need assistance over the holidays.

Ride and Run With The Stars begins at 7:30 a.m. and registration will be open at 6:30 a.m. at Fort DeSoto Park.

Since 1993, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Ride & Run with the Stars holiday fundraiser has raised more than $600,000 in donations to assist families, children and crime victims through the holidays.

Ride and Run With The Stars offers cycling, running and walking events, including a certified 5k road race. There is also a silent auction, a climbing wall, food, giveaways, children's crafts, Sheriff's Office displays and a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves.

All activities will be staged from the Fort picnic area.

Registration is $40 and participants receive a long-sleeved T-shirt and race-bag giveaways while supplies last.
