St. Pete Beach Police Savings Could Go Toward Corey Ave. Improvements

City commissioners are looking to pass on the projected $433,000 savings from dissolving the police force in November, the Beach Beacon reports.

St. Pete Beach is on track to save about $433,000 this fiscal year thanks to its contract with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and is considering using the savings to improve the Corey Avenue area, the Beach Beacon reports.

Voters in November decided to dissolve the St. Pete Beach Police and contract with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

Now city commissioners are pass the projected savings on to the struggling Corey Avenue shopping area.
