Imagine running, walking or jogging through Pass-A-Grille while the sun sets and the moon rises over the gulf. The Hot Run is timed to allow participants an amazing beach view.

The first ever Hot Run will begin and end at The Hurricane Seafood Restaurant at 809 Gulf Way, on Thursday, September 19. Event organizers expect between 800 and 1,500 participants.

Runners will start around 7:20 p.m. - 10 minutes before sunset and 16 minutes before the full moon begins rising over the bay, according to organizers.

Registration opened today, Wednesday, August 14, with prices at $20 for students under 18 and $30 for everyone else. According to The Hurricane's Facebook page - sign up before 11:59 p.m. today and you'll receive the $30 price.

Prices will increase as the event approaches. To register, click on Active.com.

A portion of the profits will go to two Pass-A-Grille non-profit organizations: AMI Kids and Suntan Art Center.

The Hurricane will host a post-race party and HOT 101.5 will provide entertainment for runners and spectators.
