Woman Accused of Cashing $7,000 in Stolen Checks
Treasure Island Police arrested a woman accused of forging 30 checks worth a total of nearly $7,000.

A Treasure Island woman faces felony charges for allegedly stealing checks, forging them and cashing them for a total amount of nearly $7,000, authorities say.
According to a Pinellas County Sheriff's report, Kimberly Ann Davis, 56, was hired to do "odd jobs" for the victim around her house. Davis was paid $25 a week for her services by the victim, according to the report.
Davis told authorities that the woman gave her the checks and told her to fill out the monetary amount. She denies forging any check.

The victim told authorities that she never gave Davis the authority to fill out the checks.
According to reports, Davis allegedly forged 30 checks between November and April 22 for a total of $6,905.71.

Davis was charged on April 22 with uttering forged bills, checks, drafts, notes, a felony and scheme to defraud, a felony. Davis posted $4,000 bail for both charges.
