Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch To Host Annual Alive Day

The Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch will host its annual Alive Day Saturday, Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lurie Park in PInellas Park.

PINELLAS BEACHES, FL -- The Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch will host its annual Alive Day Saturday, Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lurie Park, 5500 62nd Ave. N., Pinellas Park.

The event will include a 5K ride, 5K run and 5K walk and five live bands.

Most of the activities will be around the Wounded Warriors Ability Ranch at Lurie Park.

The police-escorted bike ride will start at the park and take riders through the city of Pinellas.

Many injured veterans will take part in the ride as part of the WWAR’s mission to inspire veterans to get out and get active.

Riders, walkers and runners interested in participating can still sign up online.

The events are free for veterans who will also receive lunch, a shirt, a goodie bag and refreshments. Tickets for non-veteran adults are $25 and child tickets are $10.

With more than 300 participants expected, the public is encouraged to come out and cheer them on.

There will be food, live music, bounce houses, a visit by the Buccaneers Cheerleaders and Street Team, adaptive sport demonstrations and a presentation about WWAR.
