HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL β€” Hillsborough County will open two new temporary COVID-19 testing sites Friday, Dec. 31 through Sunday, Jan. 2 to help meet the high demand for testing expected during the holiday weekend, a county news release said.

The two new testing sites will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the following Hillsborough County Community Resource Centers:

  • Lee Davis Community Resource Center 3402 N. 22nd St., Tampa
  • Plant City Community Resource Center 307 N. Michigan Ave., Plant City

Each site will have a limited supply of 1,000 tests per day. The limited supply is likely to run out during the days that the sites are open, and residents are encouraged to monitor Hillsborough County social media on Facebook and Twitter for announcements about when the sites have administered their daily supply. The tests are intended for residents who are showing symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive.

The temporary sites will supplement the work being done at testing sites at Hillsborough County’s West Tampa Community Resource Center and Progress Village Park, and a site operated by the City of Tampa at Al Lopez Park.

Between 2,000 and 3,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered at the West Tampa test site every day this week as demand for testing has grown, health officials said.
