The medical examiner's office is working to determine the Plant City resident's cause of death. He had been missing since July 23.

PLANT CITY, FL — A Plant City man who had been missing since July 23 was found dead Friday in a field near his home, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Christopher McCullough, 88, lived with dementia and Atrial Fibrillation, and he could only hear with a hearing aid. He was overdue for his medication when he went missing, according to authorities.
"Since the morning Mr. McCullough was last seen, his family, volunteers and HCSO personnel searched several areas on multiple occasions looking for him," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "We are heartbroken at this outcome, and will keep all those who knew and loved Mr. McCullough in our thoughts during this difficult time."
