• Legislative Session preview: Tampa Bay area lawmakers collectively seek some $400M in funding for local projects (floridapolitics.com) — State lawmakers are pushing for tens of millions of dollars specifically for Plant City, including a new $20 million Westside community center, a lakeside park, canal flood-mitigation work, and an HCC workforce center on the Plant City campus. These projects are part of a broader $400 million wish list for the Tampa Bay region, but tight state budgets mean not all requests will be fully funded.
