"Eco Egg" Hunt Saturday at Marshall Street Park
A group of volunteers will attempt to eradicate the pesky air potato problem at the park with a fun, family themed event.
Marshall Street Park is one of the gems of Safety Harbor’s park system.
But like many other places in town, if you look close enough you will see that a is infiltrating it.
A group of volunteers has been working feverishly to try to eradicate the air potato problem that’s plaguing the area. Saturday they will incorporate a touch of fun to the endeavor by hosting an "Eco Egg" Hunt at the park.

Julie Inman, director of the Rigsby Recreation Center and a leader in the volunteer effort, had this to say about the event via email:
“The bunny has gone green! This Saturday is Safety Harbor’s first ever "Eco Egg" Hunt sponsored by Partners in Parks. Instead of adding more plastic to our environment, Safety Harbor is switching it up and hunting “air potatoes”, a.k.a. "Eco Eggs".”

Inman went on to explain how the event will unfold.
“The "Eco Egg" Hunters will form teams of five people. The teams will have one hour to collect as many “Eco Eggs” as possible. Eggs will be weighed at the end of their hour.”
“Teams must register prior to 12:00 noon to participate in the hunt. It is advised for teams to wear long pants, long sleeves and bring gloves if they prefer. Prizes will be awarded at 1:00pm.”
She added there will be games and activities going on throughout the event, plus pictures with the "Eco Egg" bunny. Safety Harbor Main Street Market will be providing fresh fruit, and food and drink will be availabale for purchase, also.
The Eco Egg Hunt is from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23rd at Marshall Street Park, located at 500 Marshall Street in Safety Harbor.
