The annual event at the marina pulled in record numbers this year, according to officials.

The 2013 Safety Harbor Seafood Festival enjoyed some of the best attendance numbers the event has seen in years, according to city officials.

"We've seen an uptick of at least 5,000 people this weekend compared to what we normally see for this event," city special events supervisor Joe Cooper said. "This has been a really fantastic turnout."

Strolling the grounds at the marina, it was easy to see what Cooper was talking about.

Long lines were prevalent at many of the food booths as well as the beer & wine ticket tent, and people packed the stage area at the end of the causeway to enjoy - and dance to - the live music.

People we spoke to came from as far away as South Tampa and even Gainesville to enjoy the event, which is traditionally one of the busiest on the city's calendar every year.
