Is former Mayor Andy Steingold angling to return to office?

The Tampa Bay Times poses that question in an article published on Tuesday that examines some skirmishes between Mayor Joe Ayoub and Steingold.

Steingold resigned from his mayoral post to make an unsuccessful bid to serve as circuit court judge. This opened the door for Ayoub to run for mayor unopposed. 

According to the Times, Steingold has not only indicated publicly that he may run again, but he also dismissively referred to Ayoub as "interim mayor" on Facebook.

Ayoub has said that Steingold has failed to follow his own advice of not interfering with the business of the new mayor.

At least some residents agree, saying that Steingold is doing some negative spin on controversial issues to stir up residents. Steingold denies this.
