Up-and-Coming Musician Stops By Safety Harbor

Kevin Rowe, a soulful young British artist from Atlanta, stopped by Whimzeland for an inspirational, intimate show.

The stage was perfectly set Friday night for a private concert at Kiaralinda and Todd's WhimzeylandΒ on the outskirts of downtown Safety Harbor:

The weather was ideal, the crowd was anxious, and the wine was flowing freely.

Thankfully the invited guest did not disappoint, as up-and-coming artist Kevin Rowe performed a soulful, introspective and yes, whimsical set that delighted the audience and no doubtΒ helped boost his future record sales.

"I wasn't quite sure how to get here," the youthful looking native Texan who grew up in England told the assembled crowd. "And then I saw the bowling balls!"

Rowe went on to play for nearly two hours, mixing songs and banter to great effect, explaining the origins behind numbers like "Dancing on the Kitchen Tiles" and "Last train Home" from his debut album, 10am, whileΒ mixing in humorous fish-out-of-water tales.

But it was the meaning of his latest single that really struck a chord with everyone.Β

"Everything I Was Made For" is heartfelt number that is being used as a vehicle to bring awareness to Wellspring Living, a non-profit group that provides shelter, counseling and support for victims of human sex trafficking.

Rowe was giving copies of the single away at the show, asking only for donations to be given to Wellspring; in fact, he was headed to Suwanee, Georgia for a benefit concert for the organization after leaving town.

But for one night, Harborites got to know an artist who seems to have a talent for singing and songwriting, a good head on his shoulders and a bright career ahead of him.

"I hope I can come back and play here someday, because this is awesome," he said of his trip to Whimzeyland.Β "This place was built on heart and art, in that order."
