$17.5M Home Sale Breaks Sarasota-Area Residential Record: Realtor

SARASOTA, FL — A 12,000-plus-square-foot waterfront estate in Sarasota’s Harbor Acres neighborhood sold for $17.5 million this week, making it the highest-ever residential sale in the tri-county region of Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties, according to a news release from Michael Saunders & Company.

Prior to this, the sale of Serenissima, a Longboat Key estate, held the record after it sold for $16.5 million at the end of 2020.

Michael Saunders’ agents Linda Driggs and Kim Ogilvie represented the sellers of the Harbor Acres home, which sits on nearly two park-like acres at 1423 and 1435 Hillview Drive.

The property boasts 249 feet of private waterfront access to Sarasota Bay, two boat docks, spectacular bay and downtown views, and expansive spaces – both indoors and outdoors – for relaxation, recreation and entertaining, the real estate company said.

Throughout the home are meticulous upgrades and fine-crafted details, such as hand-carved solid wood doors, crown molding, stone hearts, wall and ceiling murals, designer chandeliers, and stained-glass fixtures.

“This is not only a record-breaking sale but truly one of the finest properties offered in Sarasota,” Driggs said. “The owners created a park-like waterfront setting and curated every detail imaginable inside and out.”

She previously set the residential sale record for Sarasota and Manatee counties in 2007, when she sold the same home at 1423 Hillview Drive for $7,287,500.

“This property truly is an iconic one deserving of a record-breaking sale,” Ogilvie said.

She also previously held the record for the highest sale in Harbor Acres, when she sold 1452 Hillview Drive in February 2021 for $13.25 million and has sold more Harbor Acres homes than any other agent in the last 20 years, the real estate company said.
