Deputies say D’Ambrosio was knocked unconscious and left lying in the road, and the Explorer drove over him as the suspects fled the scene.
Brignoni turned himself in to detectives today after learning they had obtained warrants for his arrest. Brignoni is charged with felony murder and two counts of attempted robbery. He is being held in the Sarasota County Jail without bond.
The sheriff's office believes that Brignoni isn't the sole person responsible for the incident, thus the second-degree charge for acting as an accomplice.
