What’s Open, Closed On Christmas 2025 In Sarasota

SARASOTA, FL — With many Sarasota residents celebrating Christmas on Thursday, here are some closures and schedule changes affecting government offices, facilities and services over the holiday.

Sarasota City Hall and Administrative Offices: Closed Wednesday through Friday.

Sarasota Solid Waste and Recycling Collection: There are no changes to Wednesday’s collection. Thursday’s pick-up will happen on Friday and Friday’s scheduled collection will happen on Saturday.

Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources: All locations will be closed Wednesday through Friday.

Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources: All recreation centers will be closed Wednesday through Friday.

Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex: Open Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; closed Thursday and Friday.

Lido Pool: Closed Wednesday through Friday.

Payne Park Tennis Center: Open Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; closed Thursday and Friday.

Robert L. Taylor Community Complex: Open Wednesday, 6 to 10 a.m.; closed Thursday and Friday.

Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall: Open Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed Thursday.

Florida Department of Health in Sarasota: Offices will be closed Wednesday through Friday.

Sarasota County Schools and District Offices: Schools closed through Jan. 4. Jan. 5 is a staff professional day and students return to the classroom on Jan. 6.

Breeze Transit: Breeze routes (with the exception of the 77 Siesta Islander) and Breeze Plus will operate regular hours, while administration and ticket outlets are closed on Wednesday. The 77 Siesta Islander and Breeze OnDemand will operate modified hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve. On Thursday, Breeze routes (with the exception of the 77 Siesta Islander), Breeze Plus, and administration and ticket outlets will be closed.
