218 Grams Of Fentanyl Found In I-75 Drug Bust: Venice Police

VENICE, FL — A woman was arrested and nearly 218 grams of fentanyl seized in a drug bust Tuesday in Venice, authorities said.

Stacy Garrett, 44, of North Port was taken into custody on southbound Interstate 75 near exit 195 after a multiagency response and investigation, Venice police wrote in a Facebook post.

A total of 217.8 grams (¼ kilogram) of fentanyl was seized during the arrest.

Garrett, a landscaper, was charged with drug trafficking and obstructing justice - tampering with evidence, both felonies, and two counts of contempt of court, Sarasota County Jail records show.
