4 Injured In Crash Near Westfield Sarasota

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at McIntosh Road and Sarasota Square Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

SARASOTA, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle collision near Westfield Sarasota Square mall that sent four people to the hospital Thursday afternoon.

According to the agency, Tabatha Nicole Peters, 36, of Venice was driving a Chevrolet 1500 south on McIntosh Road around 2:30 p.m. Aug. 10. Peters was just south of the intersection with Sarasota Square Boulevard as a Ford Econoline, driven by James Allen Lawton, 52, of Englewood, was heading north on McIntosh.

Troopers say Peters traveled into the northbound lane, causing a crash between the two vehicles.

Peters suffered critical injuries in the crash. Rex Wrey Peters, 39, was also critically injured. Taylor M. Peters, 14, was seriously injured. Troopers say Lawton also suffered critical injuries.

No further information is available at this time. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
