5 Things: Discounted Dining Certificates On Sale Thursday
Dining on a discount will be made possible by the Sarasota-Manatee Originals.

1. Dining on a discount at locally owned restaurants in Sarasota and Manatee counties will be made a bit easier come Thursday.
The group will have a 30 percent off sale on gift certificates on Thursday, meaning $50 certificates will sell for $35; $25 certificates will sell for $17.50; and $15 certificates will sell for $12.50.
Discounted dining certificates are available online only at:www.freshoriginals.com. After purchase, the certificates can be printed and used immediately.

2. March 19 to discuss breast cancer and breast health. The fundraising dinner will be at The Ritz-Carlton. The Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation will host the 13th Annual Sarasota Women’s Cancer Awareness Luncheon at noon that day to beneft breast and gynecologic cancer research. Tickets are $125. 3. North Sarasota residents who want to voice their opinions about battling crime in their neighborhoods and listen to strategies will get to do so at a joint District 1 and County Forum on Thursday. Both City Commissioner Willie Charles Shaw and County Commissioner Carolyn Mason will attend. The forum is at 6 p.m. Thursday at the , 209 N. Lime Ave.

4. The Jazz Trolley rolls through town today as part of the Sarasota Jazz Festival. The event goes from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. with live jazz at , , , , the and . $20 at the trolley; $15 if purchased through the Jazz Club at 941-366-1552.
