5 Things: Dr. Beach On Siesta Key Saturday
Dr. Beach, who gave Siesta Key Beach its No. 1 ranking, will speak at the Siesta Key Association's annual meeting Saturday.

1. Dr. Beach will be on Siesta Key Saturday being honored at the Siesta Key Association's annual breakfast meeting. Dr. Beach is responsible for giving ranking. The meeting also features Commissioner Nora Patterson. Tickets cost $10 for non-members and is free for members. The event will last from 8 to 11 a.m. and will be at 's Community Center. Reservations are required by calling 364-4880.
2. Fallen Angels opens tonight. The play is a "comedy about desperate housewives, this is Noël Coward at his best – sharp, witty and utterly sophisticated. Julia and Jane are the best of friends. Both are married to loving (if slightly dull) husbands, both are approaching middle age with a little regret and both have a secret past – they both have had an affair with a dashing Frenchman named Maurice," according to the theater's website. Additional shows continue through the weekend, including a Sunday matinee, and ends May 13. Tickets are $31 to $69 and are available at asolorep.org.

4. The Sarasota Half Marathon races through the city Sunday as well. If you're not planning to cheer on the runners, you're going to be either stuck in traffic or detoured.
5. The Sarasota Jazz Festival wraps up today and Saturday at Tonight at 7:30 is the Warren and Allan Vaché Brothers' Swinging Quintet. $40 general admission; $30 club members; $5 students.
