3. The Junior League of Sarasota is celebrating all that is food at the  this weekend at G. Wiz. The kick-off is tonight and costs $25. The festival itself is free, but there are special events, including a dream kitchen tour, a beer tasting and other events at $75 each.

4. Sarasota Patch has partnered with some local organizations for the Give-A-Ton Food Drive.

5. Grammy music legend Sergio Mendes will play the  on Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available. Patch blogger Edwin Rivera is a huge fan of Sergio , which you can read about here. Tickets cost $30 to $70 and are available at the Van Wezel box office or online .
