5 Things To Know in Sarasota: Help Patch Donate One Ton Of Food

Drop off canned goods at food collection boxes with these neighborhood merchants, and help Florida Patch collect a ton of food for needy families in our region.

1. Patch has added The Coffee Loft to its businesses who are serving as a drop-off spot to donate canned goods and other non-perishable food for Feeding America Tampa Bay. 2. The Sarasota County Board of Educaiton is anticipated to select an architect and construction manager for the Sarasota High School renovation and remodel at the board's 3 p.m. meeting today. It will be held at the School Board Administrative Complex at 1980 Landings Boulevard. 3. Before you know it, The Gompertz Theatre will host shows again this summer. Construction is progressing, especially for one that started in January. The theatre celebrated a milestone for the laying of the new Hegner Theatre Wing cornerstone.

4. it's been for a while — the lease isn't extended but it's staying put. The mini flare-up between the city commission and museum settled down Monday night when the city decided to slowly move forward and makes sure grant policies are being followed before a lease discussion is started. Still, the museum will not be moving anytime soon.
