The Joyful Noise Music Festival will host a concert from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday in downtown Sarasota.

1. The Joyful Noise Music Festival is getting ready for its first-ever concert Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m. in downtown Sarasota by announcing its lineup. The concert benefits Second Chance-Last Opportunity.

The free concert will on Lemon Avenue between Main and First streets.

2. Commuters near Gulf Gate will have to build some extra time into their drive today. A closed a portion of southbound Beneva Road (south of Markridge Road) and the northbound lane will be used to allow traffic to pass. Work is expected to last throughout today.

3. The Republican Party of Sarasota will host a grand opening of what it's calling a Victory Office from 2 to 4 p.m. June 2 in the Target Shopping Center on Fruitville Road. Free coffee and cookies will be provided. The party is taking RSVPs on Facebook.

4.  will host casting calls Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m. at The Players Theatre for folks interested in participating in future webisodes of the HuB-produced series.
