5 Things: WSLR Benefit Concert Set

Betty Fox & The Dirty Bastards performs Friday, April 20 at the WSLR studios.

1. WSLR's creative fundraisers continue Friday, April 20 when Betty Fox & The Dirty Bastards perform at 8 p.m. The concert, which will take place at 525 Kumquat Court, also features the band releases its debut album, which will feature original cuts like “Down”, a thorough homage to Muddy Waters, and “Goodbye”, a salsa-tinged chart that fuses everything from Jimmy Buffet to Ada Brown.d  Tickets are $7 in advance/$9 at the door.  Advance tickets are available at Rocketman, Fogt’s Music, Sarasota Emporium and online at www.wslr.org.

2. Sarasota's own stunt clown Bello Nock will offer an in-depth look at his career during from noon to 2 p.m. on April 14. The event is included with regular museum admission.  Tickets are $25 for adults; $20 for senior citizens; $5 for children ages 6-17; and free for children 5 and under accompanied by an adult, as well as museum members. 

3. You can connect with Sarasota County Sheriff's Office Animal Services on Facebook now through its newly created fan page. 4. Sarasota County Government will host an open house from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 19, at the Administration Center, 1660 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota to show you the various projects and programs the county is doing throughout the area. The open house also will feature a bus tour, with additional tours on Saturday, April 21. Reservations may be made for the tour by emailing swalsh@scgov.net. An RSVP is required for the bus tour. Call 941-861-1573 to reserve seating.   

5. Switch up your Tuesday night and make it Trivia Tuesday. tonight starting at 6:30 p.m. If you win, there's prizes. If you lose, you had a better Tuesday than you otherwise would have.
