2. On Tuesday, Sarasota County commissioners approved a $3.7 million contract with Highway Safety Devices Inc. for the first phase of an advanced traffic management system in the county. This phase includes underground conduit and fiberoptic improvements, and the replacement of traffic controller cabinets at 123 regional roadway intersections.
