Dancing With The Stars performer coming to Sarasota

Dancing With The Stars' Anna Trebunskaya will be coming to Sarasota in February as part of the Forever Tango show.

Forever Tango will take the stage at Van Wezel Performance Arts Hall at 8 p.m., Feb. 9. Cheryl Burke will not perform on that date due to an illness in the family.

A Russian native recognized for her Latin and Ballroom styles, Trebunskaya was introduced to American viewers in Season Two of Dancing With The Stars, when she paired with football great Jerry Rice to make the finals, and ultimately a second place finish.

In Season Five, she worked with model Albert Reed and in Season Six danced with actor/funnyman Steve Guttenberg. In Season Nine, her partner was UFC fighter Chuck Liddell and she made the finals again in Season 10, finishing second with 2010 Olympic gold medalist figure skater Evan Lysacek.

Trebunskaya was also partnered with quarterback Kurt Warner (Season 11) and boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard (Season 12).

She is married to fellow Dancing With The Stars pro Jonathan Roberts, and they have performed together on results shows, during the first three seasons.

This year (Season 13) she was paired with Carson Kressley, the Emmy-winning television star, celebrity stylist, author and fashion designer.

Tango inhabits a world where everything can be said with the flick of a leg, the tug of a hand, the tap of a foot and the arch of an eyebrow.

Created and directed by Luis Bravo, Forever Tango recently enjoyed its third run on Broadway. With world-class tango dancers, a vocalist, and on-stage orchestra, the evening is a celebration of the seductive music and dance of Argentina.

Ticket prices range from $30 to $55. For more information and to buy tickets, contact the Van Wezel Box office at (941)953-3368 or log onto www.vanwezel.org
