Former Ringling Communications Director Pens Someplace Else: A Voyage to Zodiac Island
"We’ve probably all been asked what our sign is and know the answer, but hey, what does it tell us?" asks Barbara Linick, author of Someplace Else: A Voyage to Zodiac Island.
"Not many people know much about the meaning of their zodiac sign, let alone that all 12 signs comprise the system of astrology."
Someplace Else: A Voyage to Zodiac Island (recently published by AuthorHouse) is a whimsical tale that introduces us to astrology through a child's dream. The 52-page book is enhanced by 20 color illustrations by Linick.

As he sleeps, 12-year-old Johnny imagines he’s on a trip to Zodiac Island where, one by one, he meets each sign in its living form—each depicted with a full-page color illustration.
Along his dream journey, Johnny learns that each sign has its own attributes, including a gemstone, a color, a body part, a plant or flower—plus its own symbolic disposition and animal or person, such as Sagittarius’ centaur or Gemini’s twins.

"But here’s the hitch," says Linick. "At the end, all 12 signs line up along Zodiac Island’s shore and each wants Johnny to choose which of them is best." His decision is as intriguing and fanciful as the book.
