Humane Society Selects New Executive Director

After conducting a national search, the Board of Directors of the is pleased to announce Kristi Dorman Bratzke as it’s new Executive Director.  

Bratzke has served as interim Executive Director since January of this year. Her extensive marketing, development and managerial experience has already demonstrated positive results.

Her leadership will ensure that HSSC will continue its mission of providing abandoned pets with compassionate care and shelter while promoting responsible pet ownership and securing permanent homes.

The Humane Society of Sarasota County is one of the largest no-kill shelters in the area.

We rely solely on the generosity of private donors and grants and do not receive any government funding or financial support from the Humane Society of the United States.  

HSSC offers pet adoptions, behavior training, humane education and pet therapy for children, seniors and those with special needs.
