Thin-Crust Pizzeria Opening in Downtown Sarasota
A new restaurant, Pie on Main, known for its thin-crust pizzas has opened in downtown Sarasota.

The eatery, which opened Jan. 4, is located at 1507 Main Street, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
The space was previously home to Pizza N’ Brew.

Nancy’s Bar-B-Q Closes
Less than a year after reopening in Sarasota, Nancy’s Bar-B-Q permanently closed its doors Saturday, the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post.
Nancy’s launched in downtown Sarasota in 2011. The barbecue eatery relocated to Lakewood Ranch in 2011 before moving to the Lorraine Corners shopping center in the same area in 2019, according to the Bradenton Herald-Tribune.
The restaurant moved back to Sarasota this summer, opening in the Rosemary District at 1525 Fourth Street in August.
Boiler Room Reopening with New Owners
The Boiler Room Bar and Grill at 5600 Manatee Ave. W. in Bradenton is reopening with new owners and a new name.
Karen Bell, owner of Cortez staples A.P Bell Fish Co., Star Fish Co. Market and Restaurant, and Tide Tables Restaurant and Marina, is reopening the eatery as the Bradenton Boiler Room with her business partner Josh Wilkinson.
Tsunami Opening Lakewood Ranch Location
The downtown Sarasota restaurant Tsunami Sushi & Hibachi Grill will open a second location at 11627 State Road 70 E. in the Green at Lakewood Ranch shopping center, according to the Observer Media Group.
The restaurant opens its doors to the public Jan. 20.
The project is several years in the making after being delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, hurricanes and the recovery from an alligator attack.
Tsunami’s original location is on Center Avenue across from the Selby Library.
Cortez Kitchen Reopens
Cortez Kitchen, which closed in August, has reopened in the fishing village, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
The eatery in west Manatee County, known for its fresh seafood and cocktails, held its soft opening Monday.
“We’re back! Let the good times roll,” the eatery wrote on its Facebook page.
