Booker's Football, Baseball Coaching Staff Not Coming Back

Booker High School Principal Rachel Shelley announced Thursday that head football coach Fred Gilmore and head baseball coach Chris Hutchinson both have been relieved of their coaching duties along with the entire coaching staff of both programs.

Gilmore coached for 10 years and led the Tornadoes to the finals of the 3A state championship in 2005.  Hutchinson coached for 3 years.

Shelley said she appreciates the dedicated work of both coaches but has determined that the school’s athletic program should proceed in a different direction. Both former coaches will continue in their respective instructional positions on the BHS staff.

Summer workouts for both the football and baseball programs will proceed as scheduled starting Monday.
