Can You ID This Sarasota Armed Robbery Suspect?

Breaking: Sarasota Police say a knife-wielding man held up a Walgreens on Wednesday evening.

SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota Police Department is looking for help identifying a man its officers say robbed a Walgreens Wednesday night after showing a knife.

According to the agency, the man went into the 3550 Fruitville Road Walgreens around 8:40 p.m. Oct. 5. Once inside, the man told the cashier she was being robbed, pulled out a knife and demanded cash. Once the man received money from the drawer, he left the store without further incident.

Police say video surveillance from the Dodge Store next to the Walgreens shows the suspect before the robbery occurred. Footage was also shot inside the Walgreens during the robbery.

After the robbery, police say the man used the cash to buy beer and cigarettes.

The man wanted by police is described as being in his mid-50s. He has gray hair and was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, black pants and white sneakers.
