Car Crashes Into Sarasota Post Office

SARASOTA, FL — Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat — nor apparently even a speeding car can shut down Sarasota's Southgate Post Office.

That was exactly what happened Tuesday when a car came barreling through the front entrance.

"An elderly woman’s foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas," Genevieve Judge of the Sarasota Police Department told Patch.

Judge said no one was injured in the crash.

"Her vehicle hit several PO boxes but they are open for business," added Judge.
