Child Airlifted When Boat Falls In Sarasota County

SARASOTA, FL — A 9-year-old girl was airlifted to All Children's Hospital Tuesday when a boat fell on her, according to Sarasota County officials.

County spokeswoman Brianne Grant said the incident happened around 11:51 a.m. at Ken Thompson Park.

Grant said she did not immediately have additional details of the incident.

The waterfront park features a concrete boat ramp with six lanes and four docks, according to Visit Sarasota. The 92-acre park is owned by the city of Sarasota and operated by Sarasota County Parks and Recreation.
