City Approves Hiring Freeze

Sarasota city government will institute a four-month hiring freeze effective Monday to save $250,000.

The city commission voted to start the freeze 5-0. 

Three exceptions to the freeze are the:

• pension plans administrator

• computer systems administrator

• computer support specialist

Pamela Nadalini, city auditor and clerk stated in a memo that the current pland administrator is retiring and it's vital that the new employee is trained by that staff member.
