Condo Sale Shatters Record for Sarasota County

The luxury condo, purchased through a trust, was bought by a couple from New England who prefer to stay anonymous.

A penthouse condo with views of the Gulf of Mexico shattered sales records in Sarasota County, fetching $6.75 million, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

The Herald-Tribune reports that the price "is a record paid for a condominium unit in Sarasota County, according to property appraiser records."

The highest sales price for a condo was previously $6.21 million, the Herald-Tribune reports. It was for a penthouse on Lido Key.

In this new record sale, the four-bedroom, six-bathroom unit is located in a gated community called L’Ambiance, at Longboat Key Club-Islandside.The condo has 5,170 square feet of space, or 8,5757 square feet, if the terraces are counted, too, according to the Herald-Tribune.

The sales was handled by real estate agent Cheryl Loeffler of Premier Sotheby's International Realty.

The buyers want to stay anonymous but are from New England, according to the Herald-Tribune. Sellers are Michael and Joanne Masin.
