Doughnut Shop Closes Original Location

Five-O Donut Co. recently closed its location in the Shops at Siesta Row at 2241 Ringling Blvd., according to a Facebook post by the company.

The shop chose not to renew the lease at that location.

“Visit us down the road at 2241 Ringling Blvd. instead,” Five-O added.

There are three other locations in the Sarasota and Bradenton area, according to the company’s website:

• University Town Center, 81 N. Cattlemen Road, Sarasota
• 5942 34th Street W., Bradenton
• 2211 60th Ave. E., Ellenton

Bradenton Boiler Room Reopens

The Bradenton Boiler Room reopened earlier this month under a new name, the AMI Sun reported.

The Boiler Room Bar and Grill at 5600 Manatee Ave. W. is under new ownership after closing in 2020.

“This is something that the town has missed, at a time of a lot of growth, redevelopment and change we’re kind of trying to bring back something that everybody loves, a time-hon­ored tradition,” Staci Wilkinson, one of the new owners, told the Sun. “We’re trying to honor the way that it once was and put our own little flair on it as well.”

Dog Bar Sarasota to Celebrate Grand Opening

Donte’s Den Animal Sanctuary will be the fundraising recipient at the inaugural event of Dog Bar Sarasota on July 19, 2 to 6 p.m., according to a news release.

The bar took over the former location of Boo’s Ice House.

Guests are invited to hang out, enjoy drinks and let their pups roam freely in Sarasota’s largest indoor, air-conditioned off-leash park

This grand opening celebration will include a Doggy Foam Party, pet vendors and a new menu.
Dog Bar has a sister location in St. Petersburg, which opened in 2016.

There will also be a specialty cocktail called The Donte, handcrafted with Tito’s vodka. All proceeds from this drink will support the animal sanctuary’s mission.

Pinball Cafe Opens in Downtown Bradenton

Ballerz Pinball Cafe recently opened in downtown Bradenton at 412 Old Main Street, the Bradenton Herald said.

The space features 13 pinball machines and a handful of arcade video games.

A $10 day pass allows guests to play as much as they’d like.

Maryland Pizza Chain Opens in Sarasota County

A Maryland pizza chain known for its rectangular pies opened a Sarasota County location, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune said.

Ledo Pizza is located at 1091 Toldeo Blade Blvd. in North Port.

The brand’s smoke provolone cheese, sweet tomato sauce and thin crust embodies what came to be known as Maryland-style pizza, the Herald-Tribune said.

Other Florida locations include Tampa, Ave Maria and Ormond Beach, according to Ledo’s website.
