Dog of the Week: Huggy

There's a reason my name is Huggy. 

I'm a sweet, affectionate guy just looking for love!  Could you be the object of my affection?  Could you have the forever home I'm looking for?

You see, I come across as a bit shy. I take my time getting to know people. I'm scared by loud noises. Can you blame me?

  My previous owners didn't take me out much so I never got used to new people and new situations.  I take my time until I'm comfortable.  But then....you won't believe how I change! 

I become outgoing and affectionate, I love to lie beside you and even better, be in your lap.  I won't leave you alone for long and I'd love to be your true companion. 

I don't need a lot of outdoor exercise or extra attention. 

I just want to be your best friend.  You know...stick by your side, get a scratch behind the ears and just enjoy your company. 

I'm a 45 pound, 5-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who plays well with other dogs and walks on a loose leash. 

Initially, when you're not around, I need to be crated.  Obedience school will teach me what is ok to chew and what isn't, and classes are offered at the .

I'm a real love bug and need a home with teen-aged children or older. Won't you bring me home with you? I must admit, I'm wondering if anyone will ever love me like I can love them. 

It's been a long time since I've had a family of my own.
