Elderly Woman Drowns In Sarasota

SARASOTA, FL — An elderly woman drowned Sunday in a family swimming pool in Sarasota, according to police.

Genevieve Judge of the Sarasota Police Department said that the 75-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene by Sarasota County Emergency Services personnel.

"No foul play is suspected and the public is not in any danger," Judge explained. "The drowning remains under investigation."

She said the drowning occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday night on North Washington Drive near St. Armands Circle in Sarasota.
