Firearms, Hydromorphone, Pot, Cash Seized in Sarasota Bust
A search of a Sarasota home resulted in the seizure of drugs, cash and two firearms, including an assault rifle.
SARASOTA, FL — A 30-year-old Sarasota man faces a long list of criminal charges after police conducted a drug-related warrant search of his home last week.
According to the Sarasota Police Department, a search warrant was executed at a home in the 1900 block of 29th Street on Thursday, Oct. 13. Once inside the home, detectives found $2,500 in cash, 221.9 grams of marijuana, 26 hydromorphone pills and trace amounts of powder cocaine. A Kel-Tech 9mm assault rifle and a Glock 9mm handgun were also seized.
“There were numerous loaded, high capacity magazines with the two firearms,” the agency noted in a Monday morning email to media.

The resident of the home Elijiata M. Williams was on house arrest at the time of the search, the email said. Williams was charged with three counts of violation of probation, possession of marijuana with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a park, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a park, possession of cocaine, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. He also faces a possession of paraphernalia charge.
Williams remained in the Sarasota County Jail on Monday.
