ICYMI: Florida’s Most Popular Baby Names For 2016 Are…
Find out which names were the most popular for babies born in the Sunshine State in 2016. Did your name make the list?

The Sunshine State might be known for marching to the beat of its own drum, but Floridians don’t seem to buck the system too much in the baby-naming department. Statewide data released by the Social Security Administration on Friday shows that the most popular baby names in Florida track pretty closely to those selected by parents across the country in 2016.
Emma and Noah beat out the competition on the national level for the third year running, earning No. 1 slots for most popular baby names. In Florida, both those names are in the top 10 list, but Liam and Isabella took first place in the state.

According to the Social Security Administration, 1,303 boys born in Florida in 2016 were named Liam. Isabella was the given name for 1,301 girls.
The Social Security Administration released national data on May 12. The statewide lists, including Florida’s, came out on Friday, May 19. For boys, the federal agency says the top 10 names for 2016 in Florida are:

For Florida-born girls, the top 10 baby names for 2016 are:
- Isabella
- Olivia
- Emma

- Abigail
- Sofia
- Amelia
The full list of rankings includes the top 100 names for boys and girls. In 2016 in Florida, the 100th-place names were Nicolas and Nora. A total of 222 boys were named Nicolas while 171 girls were named Nora. To check out the full list, visit the Social Security Administration online.
