UPDATE: Sarasota Man Dead In North Sarasota Shooting
The shooting occurred late Monday just before midnight at Cave's Lounge in north Sarasota and killed one while injuring four.

A Sarasota father died following a shooting Monday night when he was coming to the aide of his daughters who were involved in a fight with a man who fathered one of their children.
Edwin Frett, 51, 1823 Sanford Circle in Sarasota, died from a gunshot wound after he arrived at the scene, according to the sheriff's office. Frett's daughter called and told him about the fight with Hugan and the shooting occurred a short time later, according to the sheriff's office. Detectives continue speaking with witnesses and victims to determine the exact chain of events.
The arrested Troy Hugan, 31, of 2923 Pershing Ave., Sarasota, for aggrivated assault and domestic battery charges, but no charges have been filed in relations to a homicide as the case that night killed one and injured four others.

The shooting took place at Cave's Lounge, 4034 N. Washington Blvd., around 11:44 p.m. Monday where three victims were taken to for treatment. Two victims were treated and released with minor gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff's office.
A third victim is at Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton listed in stable condition, according to the sheriff's office.

The victims are:
• Tresha Trotman, 21, of Bradenton
• Nakeisha Davis, 21 of Sarasota
• Tiara Frett, 22 of Sarasota
• Tenesha Frett, 21 of Sarasota
Hugan approached Trotman when an argument started and punched Tenesha Frett in the face, according to the probable cause affidavit. Frett and Hugan had a child together, which is why Hugan was charged with domestic battery, according to the affidavit.
When Trotman, David and Tiara Frett attempted to stop the fight, Hugan pulled out a gun and pointed it at the four women, according to the affidavit.
All four women said they feared that Hugan would shoot them, and Tenesha Frett suffered an injured jaw during the fight.
