GoFundMe Started For 9-Year-Old Boy Killed In Sarasota
A GoFundMe has been started for 9-year-old Roman Miller, the little boy who was killed Monday on his way to his third-grade class.

SARASOTA, FL — A GoFundMe has been started for 9-year-old Roman Miller, the little boy who was killed Monday on his way to his third-grade class at Brentwood Elementary in Sarasota.
"Roman Miller was tragically taken from us far too soon riding his bike to school," said the GoFundMe.
The child was struck by a pickup truck as he was crossing Nodosa Drive in a crosswalk at the time of the crash along Webber Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The boy was taken to Doctors Hospital by first responders where he was pronounced dead.

"Please help come together as a community to help his family cover a memorial service, time off work and expenses that come with loosing a child," the GoFundMe urged.
Sarasota County School Superintendent Todd Bowden visited with staff and children at Brentwood following the child's death.

"We have shared the tragic news with parents and staff, and we are all grieving," said a spokeswoman for the school district, who added that a district crisis team was being made available throughout the week for students and staff members who needed to talk to someone.
No charges had been filed against the driver as of late Tuesday afternoon. She was identified as 25-year-old Charity Kathy Lamb of Sarasota. Florida Highway Patrol said alcohol was not suspected.
Lamb was traveling north on Nodosa Drive when the boy was struck by the front of her Silverado. She was not injured, according to FHP.
The incident remains under investigation. The GoFundMe had raised more than $7,400 as of late Tuesday afternoon.
