Rock Icons Dine at Sarasota Restaurant

AC/DC’s vocalist Brian Johnson, a Sarasota resident, and Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash recently grabbed a bite to eat at Italian restaurant Marcello Ristorante, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported. They dined in the eatery’s private dining room and wine cellar.

The musicians collaborated on a cover of Howlin Wolf’s “Killing Floor,” which will appear on Slash’s upcoming album “Orgy of the Damned.”

He was in town while Johnson recorded vocals for the track at Sarasota’s Burnt Orange Sound Studio.

The Greyson Opens in Lakewood Ranch

The Greyson, a casual family-friendly sports restaurant and bar, opened its second Manatee County location earlier this month.

The new restaurant opened March 14 in the Lakewood Walk shopping center in Lakewood Ranch, the Bradenton Herald reported.

Its original location opened in Palmetto in May, near Interstate 75 and Moccasin Wallow Road.

New Ownership for Two Sarasota Restaurants

Earlier this month, two Sarasota restaurants announced they were under new ownership: Munchies 420 Cafe in the Gulf Gate area and Knick’s Tavern & Grill in Southside Village, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported.

Sarasota Eatery Has “Best Cuban Sandwich”

The Columbia Restaurant, which has several Florida locations, including its original in Ybor City and one in Sarasota, has the “Best Cuban Sandwich” in the state, according to Southern Living readers.
