Homeless Man's Death Investigated As Homicide
Charles Benfield was found unresponsive after a reported aggravated battery and died from his injuries.
The is trying to find out who had battered a homeless man Wednesday, leading to his death.
Police responded Wednesday at 5:33 p.m. for an agravated battery in the 1700 block of 10th Way where they found Charles D. Benfield unresponsive.
Benfeld was Bayflighted to Blake Medical Center in Brandenton and recently died from his injuries, police said.
