Identities of 2 Killed in Sarasota Fire Released
Two people are dead following a Wednesday afternoon fire on Sugar Lane Road.
SARASOTA, FL — Officials have released the names of two people who died in a Wednesday residential fire on Sugar Lane Road.
According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, Benjamin and Cynthia Langford, both 68, died in the Wednesday afternoon blaze. Another person, who has not been identified by authorities, was also injured in the fire.
The fire reportedly broke out in the 3800 block of Sugar Lane Road just before 3 p.m. Oct. 26.

The three-alarm blaze is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal, the sheriff’s office said. No further information is available at this time.
