Man Arrested for Bank of America, BB&T Robberies

Sarasota Police say Danny Nemeth confessed to a BB&T bank robbery after he was arrested Friday for a Bank of America robbery.

A 44-year-old Holmes Beach man is facing charges for two bank robberies this week in Sarasota.

Sarasota Police arrested Danny Nemeth, 112 31st St., Holmes Beach on Friday following a search and confession of a , 3715 Fruitville Road, robbery that happened at 4:40 p.m. Friday and a at bank, 3201 N. Tamiami Trail. 

During Friday's robbery, police said that Nemeth approached the teller with a bag and said "Fill my bag with everything you god. No dye pack or I"ll come back and hurt you."

The teller filled the bag with an undisclosed amount of cash and as Nemeth feld off, a witness spotted is primer grey Nissan pick-up leaving the scene.

Officer Johnson located a vehicle matching the description of the truck observed by the witness near University Parkway and North Lockwood Ridge Road.

Officer Bales, Officer Dubendorf and Officer Van Gostein assisted Officer Johnson in checking the immediate area and locating Nemeth.

The Bank of America teller was brought to the scene to identify Nemeth as the robbery suspect, police said.

During Nemeth's interviews with police, he confessed to the robbery following being given his Miranda rights, police said.

Nemeth told police that the cash was underneath his pick-up's driver's seat, where police later found all of the cash, police said.

Nemeth also confessed to the BB&T robbery, police added.

He was booked into Sarasota County Jail on the two Robbery charges.

The Sarasota Police Department received substantial assistance from the numerous officers of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (including the air one helicopter) and officers of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
