Man Critical After Sarasota Hit-And-Run
Sarasota Police are asking for help locating a motorist involved in a Tuesday crash that resulted in critical injuries.

SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota Police Department is asking the public for help to find the driver of a white Chevrolet Silverado believed to have been involved in a Tuesday morning hit-and-run that left a man critically injured.
According to the agency, the crash occurred around 2 a.m. April 11 at the intersection of North Pineapple Avenue and First Street. Police say the victim, a man in his late 20s, was standing in the intersection when he was struck by the truck.

“It’s unknown at this time why the victim was in the road,” a Tuesday morning email from police said.
After hitting the man, police say the driver of the Silverado took off without stopping to help the victim.

The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert. He was listed in critical condition Tuesday morning, police spokeswoman Genevieve Judge said.
Anyone with information about the crash, the truck or its driver is asked to contact traffic homicide investigator Officer Jason Frank at 941-364-7370. The truck may have damage to its left front quarter panel, police noted.
Further information about the crash is not yet being released.
