Man Found Dead Near Sarasota Lake Identified

SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man found dead on the edge of small lake off McIntosh Lane Thursday.

According to the agency, Jeffrey S. Hendricks, 37, of Sarasota was discovered just after noon on Oct. 6. When authorities arrived, they determined Hendricks was dead. It remains unclear how long he had been there before his body was found.

Detectives say no foul play is suspected in Hendricks’ death, but the Sarasota County Medical Examiner’s Office will make the final determination.

The investigation remains active with no further information being released at this time.
