Man Seriously Injured In Sarasota-Area Hit-And-Run: FL Highway Patrol

Troopers are looking for the driver in Nokomis hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a man crossing the street, FL Highway Patrol said.

NOKOMIS — A 43-year-old Nokomis man was seriously injured early Friday morning in a hit-and-run crash, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

A car with an unknown driver was heading north on Albee Farm Road in the northbound inside lane, north of Colonia Lane, just after 3 a.m.

The car’s left side hit the man, who was walking across Albee Farm Road from east to west, FHP said.

He was brought to an area hospital with serious injuries.

After the crash, the driver left the scene. The car involved in the crash is possibly an orange Hyundai Elantra and is missing the driver’s side mirror, FHP said.
